• Provide and maintain an outstanding customer experience that can only be found at Al’s Garden and Home for all guests who enter the retail location.
• Focus on providing exceptional Al’s customer service at checkout.  Expedite the front lines, direct the flow of customers, and ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment.
• Ability to perform functions in POS system including troubleshooting technical issues and solving customer transaction discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate cash balancing of the register tills.
• Have a thorough understanding of customer loyalty programs including but not limited to the Al’s Color Dollar program, tracking/entering rewards points, looking up past receipts, finding customers, and troubleshooting problems.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, retail floor space, and back office space.
• Embrace a safety culture of injury and accident prevention by following safety policies and procedures.
• Achieve daily goals as communicated by the store management.
• Assist with all other related tasks or duties within the garden center as assigned by store management.
• Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with the ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge and experience with computer software: Excel, Word, POS system.
• Excellent math and reading skills.
• Ability to analyze situations, identify problems and implement solutions
• Flexibility and adaptability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends with overtime during busy peak seasons.

Physical Demands

This job requires the ability to work standing, walking, bending, and lifting 25 lbs. continuously throughout the day.

Work Environment

This job can operate on the sales floor, indoor and outdoor, and in an office environment as business requires.
