The Underwriter II plays a crucial role in evaluating and assessing insurance applications to determine coverage eligibility and risk levels. Responsibilities
- Analyze insurance applications and supporting documents for underwriting decisions
- Reviews for any missing info pertinent to the review/decision making of eligibility
- Completes Loss/Claims info on snapshot
- Creates/Drafts proposal for Underwriter III Review
- Creates UMB submission packet to send to carriers
- Complete Bind Prep
- Adds subjectivities to Net Operating Loss file
- Completes renewal snap&rate, then proposal after FP from underwriter III is advised
- Assess risk factors and determine appropriate coverage and premiums
- Collaborate with agents and brokers to clarify application information
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Review and update underwriting guidelines as needed
- Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and actions
- Support senior underwriters in complex case evaluations
- Communicate underwriting outcomes clearly to stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience (Ideally 2-4 years)
- Must have experience with Commercial Property, GL & Auto
- Previous experience reviewing and analyzing risk on applications, renewals and change requests.
