Business Growth Intern — Hands-On, In-Person Internship

Compensation: Unpaid internship; eligible for academic credit

This Is Not a “Get Coffee” Internship

At Paybility, interns do not sit on the sidelines, organize filing cabinets, or spend an entire semester watching other people work.

You will be part of the team.

Our internship program is designed for motivated students who want real-world experience, meaningful responsibilities, and the opportunity to contribute to projects that directly impact a growing company.

You will work alongside our leadership team, collaborate with other interns and professionals, participate in strategy conversations, and help turn ideas into real business results.

What You’ll Experience

Depending on your interests, strengths, and academic program, you may gain hands-on experience in areas such as:

• Marketing and social media strategy
• Business development and sales support
• Recruiting and human resources
• Communications and content creation
• Market and industry research
• Project management
• Customer experience
• Process improvement
• Partnership development

• General business operations

This internship is intentionally collaborative. You will work on team projects, contribute your ideas, receive feedback, and see how different departments work together to grow a business.

What Makes This Internship Different?

You will not be given meaningless “intern work.”

You may help develop a marketing campaign, research a new market, improve an internal process, assist with recruiting initiatives, create business content, support a partnership strategy, or present recommendations directly to company leadership.

Your work will have a purpose—and you will be able to point to real projects, accomplishments, and skills when you update your résumé.

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You Are:

• Currently enrolled in a college or university
• Located in or able to commute to Roanoke, Virginia
• Curious, dependable, and eager to learn
• Comfortable sharing ideas and asking questions
• Able to work independently while contributing to a team
• Interested in entrepreneurship, business, marketing, communications, HR, sales, or operations
• Looking for experience that goes beyond observing from the sidelines

You do not need years of experience. We are looking for students with initiative, professionalism, creativity, and a willingness to grow.
