About the role

As a Senior Engineer on the Blockchain team, you will play a key role in architecting, building, and maintaining Paxos' blockchain infrastructure and applications. You'll use your deep technical expertise and hands-on skills to deliver secure and scalable solutions, collaborating closely across functions to help shape our technological direction and execute complex projects.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain mission-critical issuance systems that support tokenized assets across multiple blockchains.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, compliance, and infrastructure to define system architecture and technical requirements.
• Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our issuance services through best practices in software design, testing, and deployment.
• Optimize existing issuance infrastructure to enhance performance, reduce latency, and improve operational efficiency.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Stay informed about emerging trends in blockchain, distributed systems, and financial technology to drive innovation within the team.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical decision-making processes.

About you

• 5 years of software engineering experience, ideally in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Golang or Java preferred; Kotlin, Rust, Python, or C also valued.)
• Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed system design.
• Experience building and maintaining cloud-native services using tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, and AWS.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, especially in production environments.
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities; able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience working on high-throughput, low-latency systems or trading infrastructure is a strong plus.
• A passion for innovation and driving technical solutions to real-world problems.

Pay and benefits

Paxos offers a competitive total compensation and benefits package, including equity and bonuses based on both your individual performance and company performance. Eligibility for bonuses is dependent on job level, and actual salary within the range depends on your skills, experience, and qualifications.

Expected range for the base salary component for candidates located within the United States is:

$173,284-$203,864 USD
