Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Coordinator to oversee the placement and support of high school exchange students within local communities. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by fostering cultural exchange, supporting student integration, and building strong community relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience in volunteer management, recruiting, social work, teaching, or working with students, and will be committed to creating a welcoming environment for international students.
Duties
- Coordinate the placement of high school exchange students with host families and schools, ensuring a positive experience for all parties
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students, host families, schools, and community partners
- Organize orientation sessions and ongoing support activities for students and host families to promote cultural understanding and adjustment
- Recruit and train volunteers to assist with student activities, events, and community outreach efforts
- Conduct regular check-ins with students and host families to monitor well-being and address any concerns
- Develop and maintain strong relationships within the community to promote program awareness and participation
- Facilitate communication between all stakeholders to ensure smooth program operations and compliance with program guidelines
Requirements
- Proven experience in volunteer management, recruiting, social work, teaching, or working directly with students
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Passion for cultural exchange, education, and community development
- Prior experience in educational settings or youth programs is preferred
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the program and community engagement activities
