What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Facilitator – Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program position at Pax Healing?
We are seeking a licensed or license-eligible Group Facilitator with a Master’s degree to lead therapeutic groups within our Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment program. This role requires strong clinical judgment, group facilitation expertise, and a trauma-informed approach to care for individuals in recovery.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate clinical and psychoeducational group sessions focused on substance use recovery, relapse prevention, emotional regulation, and life skills
- Utilize evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, MI, and trauma-informed care
- Establish and maintain a safe, structured, and supportive group environment
- Assess group dynamics and respond appropriately to clinical or safety concerns
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team members
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with program, state, and accrediting standards
- Maintain ethical standards, professional boundaries, and client confidentiality
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
- Licensed or license-eligible (e.g., LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent, depending on state requirements)
- Experience facilitating groups in a substance use disorder and/or behavioral health treatment setting
- Knowledge of SUD treatment models, recovery-oriented care, and harm reduction
- Strong clinical, interpersonal, and crisis management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in IOP, PHP, residential, or outpatient SUD treatment settings
- Training in evidence-based group interventions
- Familiarity with co-occurring disorders
- Bilingual or multicultural experience
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
