Digital Content Creator12-month positionFLSA Status: Non-Union, Non-ExemptUnder the supervision of the Chief Information and Innovation Officer, the Digital Content Creator is responsible for developing, producing, and managing engaging digital content that promotes the school department's mission, celebrates student and staff achievements, and strengthens communication with families, staff, and the community.This position serves as the district's visual storyteller by creating professional photography, videography, graphic design, social media content, website updates, newsletters, and multimedia campaigns. The Digital Content Creator works collaboratively with school administrators, teachers, students, and district leadership to ensure consistent branding and effective communication across all digital platforms.EXEMPLARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Content CreationCapture high-quality photography and video at district events, classrooms, athletic competitions, concerts, graduations, and special programs.Edit videos for social media, website publication, presentations, and promotional campaigns.Produce professional graphics using industry-standard design software.Create compelling stories highlighting student achievement, innovative teaching, district initiatives, and community partnerships.Write engaging copy for digital publications, social media, newsletters, and website articles.Social Media ManagementManage the district's official social media accounts.Develop and maintain a content calendar.Create daily, weekly, and monthly social media campaigns.Monitor engagement and respond appropriately to public interaction in accordance with district policies.Analyze social media metrics and recommend strategies for increasing community engagement.Website ManagementMaintain and update the district website and school webpages.Ensure timely posting of news, announcements, calendars, and emergency communications.Ensure website accessibility standards (ADA/WCAG) are followed.Optimize content for mobile devices and search engines (SEO).Graphic DesignCreate professional visual materials including: FlyersPostersEvent promotionsInfographicsAnnual reportsRecruitment materialsPresentationsDigital signageSchool branding materialsVideo ProductionPlan, script, shoot, and edit promotional videos.Produce superintendent messages.Record Board of Education highlights.Develop recruitment and marketing videos.Create instructional and informational videos.Produce highlight reels for district events.PhotographyMaintain a district photo library.Photograph school events and classroom activities.Edit and archive digital photographs.Ensure proper photo releases and media permissions are followed.Communications SupportAssist with district newsletters.Draft press releases.Coordinate with local media.Support crisis and emergency communications.Help maintain consistent district branding.Marketing & Community EngagementPromote district programs.Highlight student success stories.Support recruitment initiatives.Develop campaigns for enrollment and special events.Increase community awareness of district accomplishments.BrandingMaintain consistency of: District logo usageColor palettesTypographyVisual identityMessaging standardsAnalyticsTrack and report: Website trafficSocial media engagementVideo viewsCampaign performanceCommunity engagement metricsProvide recommendations for improving digital communication strategies.Additional ResponsibilitiesAttend evening and weekend school events as needed.Maintain digital media equipment.Stay current with emerging digital media trends and technologies.Train staff on district branding and digital communication best practices.Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesPhotographyDSLR and mirrorless camerasLighting techniquesEvent photographyPortrait photographyPhoto editingVideographyVideo productionAudio recordingStoryboardingEditingMotion graphicsGraphic DesignProficiency with: Adobe PhotoshopAdobe IllustratorAdobe InDesignAdobe ExpressCanvaVideo EditingExperience with: Adobe Premiere ProFinal Cut ProDaVinci ResolveCapCut (preferred)WebKnowledge of: Website Content Management SystemsHTML/CSS (basic)WordPress (preferred)Accessibility standardsSEO fundamentalsSocial Media PlatformsExperience managing: FacebookInstagramXLinkedInYouTubeTikTok (where district policy permits)TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: Proficiency with: Microsoft OfficeGoogle WorkspaceAdobe Creative CloudCanvaMailchimp or similar email marketing platformsCloud storage platformsDigital asset management systemsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in one of the following or equivalent professional experience: Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Multimedia Production, Photography, Videography, or related field.FAA Part 107 Drone LicenseExperience with livestream productionExperience with podcast productionMotion graphics and animation experienceKnowledge of school communications laws and student privacy regulationsBilingual communication skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The employee must be able to: Lift up to 30 pounds of photography/video equipment.Stand and walk for extended periods.Travel between district buildings.Attend outdoor events in varying weather conditions.Work evenings and weekends when required.WORKING CONDITIONS: School buildingsAthletic facilitiesOutdoor eventsAdministrative officesCommunity eventsWorking hours outside of 8am-4pm.
