Pawsitivity Pet Services is a premium pet care company serving Leesburg and Lansdowne, Virginia. Since 2019, our team has grown to more than 20 dedicated caregivers supporting over 500 families with dog walking, pet sitting, adventure walks, pet taxi, house sitting, and companion care. We're looking for a Team Lead to help keep our daily operations running smoothly and our clients and sitters well supported.
Position Summary
This role blends three functions in one: Team Trainer, Pet Care Specialist, and Team Lead. You'll spend most of your time in the field, walking dogs and helping train new team members, while also serving as a leader to the rest of the walking team, especially outside business hours when the office isn't staffed, and occasionally during business hours if the team needs extra support.
What You'll Do
- Monitor sitters throughout their shifts to confirm on time starts and steady progress through their appointments.
- Review appointment reports to confirm client instructions and company standards were followed.
- Serve as a resource for team members, answering messages and going into the field yourself if an issue needs an in person response.
- Watch for urgent client matters such as questions, cancellations, and same day requests, looping in the Office Manager or CEO as needed.
- Help organize the daily schedule around same day call outs, overflow appointments, and future appointment requests.
- Flag training opportunities for team members and help reinforce policies and procedures when needed.
- Take on occasional special requests from the Owner or Office Manager.
What We're Looking For
- Reliable transportation and the ability to respond in the field on short notice.
- Residency in or within a short drive of Leesburg or Lansdowne, VA.
- Hands on animal care experience and a solid understanding of pet behavior are a strong plus.
- Comfortable being a leader among peers, someone the team can count on for guidance and quick decisions, both in the field and remotely during leadership shifts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A calm, organized approach to solving problems as they come up during a shift.
- Willingness to learn our systems in depth.
- Availability that includes at least one weekend per month, with morning or evening shift flexibility.
Schedule
This role is mostly field based, walking dogs and helping train new hires alongside the team. Team Lead leadership shifts, especially evenings, weekends, holidays, and other off hours, require staying in town and being ready to respond quickly if the team needs support. At least one weekend per month is required, coverage extends to company holidays, and shifts may fall in the morning or evening depending on business needs.
