Back of House Supervisor

Position Summary

The Back-of-House Supervisor is responsible for the care, safety, and well-being of boarding dogs who are not participating in group play. This role ensures dogs receive regular potty breaks, one-on-one interaction, fresh water, clean accommodations, and attentive care throughout their stay. The Back-of-House Supervisor also oversees housekeeping standards, maintains a clean and odor-free environment, and supervises a small team of 2-3 employees to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently and correctly.

This position requires strong dog handling skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized care and attention to dogs requiring one-on-one handling.
• Ensure boarding dogs receive regular potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, and fresh water.
• Monitor dogs for signs of stress, illness, injury, or behavioral concerns and communicate observations appropriately.
• Clean and sanitize rooms as dogs depart and prepare accommodations for incoming guests.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout all back-of-house areas.
• Ensure the facility maintains a clean, sanitary, and fresh-smelling environment.
• Supervise and support a team of 2-3 employees during daily operations.
• Delegate tasks and ensure team members remain productive and on schedule.
• Assist with training and coaching employees as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and follow company procedures.
• Step into play yard attendant duties when needed, including covering breaks, absences, or full shifts.
• Continue developing and maintaining strong dog handling and behavior assessment skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a position involving leadership, supervision, or significant responsibility preferred.
• Strong knowledge of dog behavior, body language, and safe handling techniques.
• Comfortable working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
• Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions in stressful situations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently.
• Comfortable performing physical tasks including standing, walking, cleaning, lifting, and handling large dogs.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and varied schedules as needed.

Pay: From $13.00 per hour
