Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our pet care team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, excellent grooming skills, and experience handling dogs of various breeds and temperaments. This role involves providing professional grooming services while ensuring the safety and comfort of each pet. The Dog Groomer will also support pet owners with advice on pet care and grooming needs, contributing to a positive client experience.
Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing of dogs according to breed standards and customer preferences
- Handle dogs safely and humanely, utilizing animal restraint techniques as needed
- Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming environment by cleaning tools, workstations, and bathing areas regularly
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding grooming procedures and pet care tips
- Assist with pet handling during grooming appointments, ensuring animals are comfortable and secure throughout the process
- Support other team members with general animal care tasks as required
Qualifications
- Prior experience in pet grooming, animal handling, or kennel work is preferred
- Strong animal handling skills, including animal restraint and pet care expertise
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (lifting pets or equipment)
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and compassion for animals
