Overview
Paws & Relax Grooming Salon is growing, and we are excited to add a talented, dependable groomer to our team. While we are happy to support skill-building on the job, this is not a training position. We are looking for someone who already has salon experience.
Pay & Perks
- 50% commission

- 100% of tips
- Paid weekly
- Typical earnings $1200-2800/week on a full book

Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling coats to meet breed standards or owner preferences
- Handle animals with gentle restraint techniques to ensure safety and comfort during grooming procedures
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and sanitary trims with precision and care
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming requests and provide professional advice on pet care needs
- Check the coat and temperament before you start and communicate extra time or matting before drop-off
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming station, including regular sanitation of tools
- Assist with basic salon cleaning and slatmill services if needed
- Support pet health by recognizing signs of discomfort or health issues during grooming sessions and reporting concerns appropriately
Experience
- 4 years experience minimum in pet grooming
- Background in veterinary technician, veterinary assistant, or veterinary experience is a strong plus
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal restraint methods enhances safety and efficiency
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners and team members effectively
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely when handling large or heavy pets during grooming
