Paws and Play is looking for responsible and passionate dog lovers to join our team as Dog Walkers/Pet Sitters. This is an as-needed position, perfect for someone who enjoys working with animals and has a flexible schedule. We are seeking individuals who can commit to clients with recurring weekly walk or drop-in schedules. This position pays by walk instead of an hourly rate.
There will also be the possibility of opportunities for weekend drop-ins for dogs and cats outside of walks.
Important Availability Requirement:
While scheduling is flexible, we are especially looking for candidates available Tuesday through Thursday between 10 AM – 3 PM. This is our peak time for client requests, and preference will be given to applicants who can commit to walks during these hours.
Responsibilities:
- Walk and care for dogs based on clients’ requested schedules.
- Provide companionship and exercise in a safe, engaging manner.
- Ensure pets’ safety and well-being during walks and drop-ins.
- Follow client instructions regarding leash handling, feeding (if required), and any special needs.
- Communicate with clients and provide updates on their pets’ activities.
- Handle basic pet care needs, including cleaning up after dogs.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
- Ability to walk outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must be available Tuesday–Thursday between 10 AM – 3 PM.
- Reliable transportation to travel between clients’ homes.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Previous experience with dogs is a plus, but training is provided for those new to pet care.
- Must pass a background check to be considered for the position.
