Key responsibilities include
- Animal Care: Providing daily care for pets lodging with us.
- Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintaining cleanliness in suites and following daily cleaning procedures.
- Monitoring Health: Observing animals for signs of illness or behavioral changes and reporting concerns to management.
- Exercise and Enrichment: Engaging animals in enrichments they might be scheduled for during their stay with us.
- Customer Interaction: Interacting with pets and owners upon drop off and pick-ups.
- Administering Medications: Administer medications as directed.
- Compliance with Regulations: Adhere to relevant regulations and guidelines governing animal care and welfare, ensuring that all practices align with ethical and legal standards.
- Animal handling skills: Ability to work safely and kindly with animals.
- Physical stamina: Capable of lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Organizational skills: Managing multiple tasks such as feeding, cleaning, and running dogs to the lobby area.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of each animal’s status by marking it off on their run cards provided.
Work Environment
- Kennel Assistants work in physically active settings that may involve exposure to loud noises, odors, and animal waste.
- Weekend and holidays ARE required.
This role requires a positive attitude and a genuine love for animals, with the ability to work in a team environment. We provide the schedule a month out and try to be flexible when personal needs arise. Paid time off occurs after a 1 year standing.
