Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Corrections Officer - to maintain safety, security, and order within correctional facilities. Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activity through CCTV systems and conduct regular patrols of the facility to ensure safety and security.
- Enforce rules and regulations within the correctional environment while maintaining respectful communication with inmates.
- Respond promptly to incidents or disturbances, utilizing conflict management techniques to de-escalate situations.
- Conduct searches of inmates and their belongings to prevent contraband from entering or leaving the facility.
- Write detailed reports documenting daily activities, incidents, and disciplinary actions accurately and thoroughly.
- Administer first aid or CPR in emergency situations until medical personnel arrive.
- Maintain accurate records of inmate behavior, movements, and other relevant information.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary for investigations or transfers.
- Participate in ongoing training related to security procedures, report writing, conflict resolution, and emergency response.
Requirements
- Prior experience in law enforcement, security, military service, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of CCTV operation, conflict management techniques, report writing, and emergency response procedures such as first aid and CPR is highly desirable.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally while maintaining authority.
- Strong observational skills with attention to detail for monitoring inmate behavior and facility conditions.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with inmates, staff, and external agencies.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment screening process.
