Assistant Mobile Medical Manager – Full-Time


Department: Care-A-Van Mobile Vaccine Clinic

Reports To: Care-A-Van Manager and Director of Operations

Location: Various locations throughout South Carolina

Position Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $25.00/hour


Position Summary

Pawmetto Lifeline’s Care-A-Van is a true mobile vaccine clinic providing convenient, affordable access to essential veterinary vaccines, preventatives, and pet wellness products throughout South Carolina. All proceeds from the Care-A-Van support Pawmetto Lifeline’s life-saving mission to reduce pet overpopulation and keep pets healthy and in their homes.

The Assistant Mobile Medical Manager plays an important role in the daily operation of the Care-A-Van by assisting with veterinary services, client care, animal handling, site set up and breakdown, inventory, and overall clinic operations. This position works closely with the Coordinators and Vet Technicians and reports directly to the Care-A-Van Manager and Director of Operations.

The Care-A-Van operates on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at various locations throughout South Carolina.


Essential Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist clients with required paperwork and accurately enter information into the computer system.
  • Utilize and understand common veterinary terminology.
  • Maintain working knowledge of vaccines, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention for both dogs and cats.
  • Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats for vaccinations, blood draws, and other services.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of mobile clinic sites.
  • Assist with stocking, organizing, and maintaining Care-A-Van inventory and supplies.
  • Communicate with clients regarding available services and explain products and preventative care options.
  • Provide excellent customer service and answer client questions in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist Coordinators and Vet Technicians with daily clinic operations and workflow.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Assist the Care-A-Van Manager with daily operational needs and problem-solving.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Schedule & Working Conditions

    • Must be available to work Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
    • Workdays may range from 8–12 hours.
    • This is a mobile position requiring travel to various locations throughout South Carolina.
    • Work is performed primarily outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
    • Must be able to stand for extended periods and work in hot, cold, rainy, and other weather extremes.
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • As an essential position, employees must be willing and able to report to work to ensure essential operations continue, regardless of weather or other emergent conditions.
    • Reliable attendance and minimal unscheduled absences are essential to the success of this position.

  • Qualifications & Experience

    • Veterinary technician experience in a veterinary clinic, shelter, or similar animal-care setting required.
    • Management or supervisory experience required.
    • Customer service and sales experience required.
    • Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, vaccines, and common preventative care products.
    • Comfortable safely handling and restraining all breeds and sizes of cats and dogs.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work efficiently and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in the field.
    • Professional, respectful, and positive demeanor.
    • Highly motivated with a genuine interest in helping animals and the people who care for them.
    • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
    • Ability to work extended hours outdoors and perform physically demanding duties.
