Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Dog / Cat Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pet grooming, animal handling, and customer service, with a genuine love for animals. This role offers an opportunity to work in a caring environment where animal welfare is the top priority. This individual will be responsible for providing professional grooming services, ensuring pets' comfort and safety, and delivering excellent customer experiences. Our schedule runs Tuesday - Friday with rotating Saturdays.
Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping for dogs of various breeds and sizes
- Handle animals safely and gently, utilizing proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety during grooming procedures
- Assist with pet care routines such as cleaning ears, expressing glands, and applying topical treatments as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools and work area in accordance with health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming preferences, special needs, or health concerns
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client questions and ensuring a positive experience
- Support other team members with animal handling or kennel duties when necessary
- Follow all safety protocols related to animal restraint, heavy lifting, and sanitation
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming, dog handling, or animal care; veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary procedures related to pet grooming and care
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting large dogs or equipment)
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Supply own equipment / tools
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends; passion for animals is essential
