Duties
- Safely handle and restrain dogs and other small animals during bathing, grooming, and drying procedures
- Perform thorough pet baths using appropriate shampoos and conditioners tailored to each animal’s needs
- Groom pets by trimming fur, cleaning ears, clipping nails, and brushing coats to ensure cleanliness and comfort
- Assist with dog training techniques to promote calm behavior during grooming sessions
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sanitizing grooming tools and equipment after each use
- Observe pets for signs of health issues or discomfort and communicate findings to veterinary staff or management
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining grooming procedures and addressing pet owner questions professionally
Qualifications
- Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dog training methods and veterinary experience is a strong plus
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and pet care best practices
- Ability to lift heavy objects (heavy lifting) such as tubs of supplies or large dogs safely
- Strong communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members
- Experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, kennels, or as veterinary assistants or technicians is advantageous
- Passion for animals with a positive attitude and energetic approach to daily tasks
Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour
