What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Architect/Field Documentation Specialist position at Pavlovcik Architecture Inc?
Pavlovcik Architecture Inc. is looking to fill a Junior Architect position to specialize in documenting existing conditions data using LiDAR scanning and Point Cloud modeling technologies.
This position is expected to be a growth-based role which will allow the candidate to gain extensive architectural experience on residential remodeling and new construction projects and be able to transition into a full-time Architectural Design and Drafting specialist who will develop projects and work directly with clients from start to finish.
This is a Full-Time, in-office Position (not a summer internship). Open to recent graduates with minimal experience; as this will be a growth-based role.
Our firm focuses on providing architectural plans for obtaining building permits on residential remodeling and new-construction projects throughout the City of Chicago and surrounding Chicagoland.
Initial Job Duties will include:
- Coordinating directly with clients to schedule site visits
- Visiting project sites to document existing conditions using a handheld mobile LiDAR scanner
- Organizing and sharing information from site visits on our local server and discussing with Architectural Staff prior to project development
- Point Cloud 3D Model clean-up
- Conversion from Point Cloud 3D Model to Vector based 3D model
- Updating project notes and information in company's online project management system
- Updates to company website and social media accounts
- General office tasks
Hardware/Software to be Utilized: (Past Experience is a Plus)
- Leica BLK2GO LiDAR Scanner
- Microsoft Surface Pro
- Hexagon PinPoint
- Chief Architect
- Google Suite (Gmail, Spaces, Calendar)
- AirTable
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, etc.)
- Windows 11
This Position is a growth-based role, and is designed to allow candidates to transition from a Assistant Project Coordinator into a Design Architect role; for which additional job duties will include:
- Drafting & development of existing, demolition, and proposed floor plans using the Chief Architect program
- Drafting & Development of Exterior and Interior Elevations
- Basic level drafting and design for Structural and MEP Systems
- Updating drawings from redlines provided by Architectural Manager's Review
Requirements for Qualified Candidates:
- Graduated from an Architectural Program
- Ability to work full time in our Downtown Chicago office location
- Ability to visit local project sites in-person (Personal vehicle/reliable means of transportation required)
- Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks at once
- Organized, reliable, detail orientated, and possess good communication skills
- Ability to commit to deadlines
- Ambitious and excited to learn and grow in a professional setting
- Applicant will not need Visa Sponsorship
Preferred Qualities & Experience:
- Some experience working within a Professional Architectural setting
- Graduated from an Accredited University
- Natural ability to find and solve problems & create efficiencies
Additional Notes:
- This is a Full-Time, In-Office position
- Salary: $18-$24/Hr. with the opportunity to be higher based on experience.
- This position will qualify to provide AXP hours to be used towards Licensing through the NCARB program.
