Position Summary

The Regional Director of Clinical Services will be responsible for assessment and evaluation of clinical services at assigned long term care facilities. The position will provide consultation services to the facilities in the areas of resident care, state and federal surveys, regulatory compliance, human resource management and clinical services. The Regional Director of Clinical Services is responsible for driving clinical outcomes, mentoring staff, implementation of the facility policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, rules and regulations. This position reports to the VP of Clinical Services.

Essential Functions

  • Must be able to collect, analyze, and manage data.

  • Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills, good judgment, and critical thinking skills.

  • Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct all systems, policies and procedures for all aspects of the nursing department in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern long term care facilities.

  • Maintain and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of direct care operations.

  • Participate in facility surveys made by authorized government agencies as necessary.

  • Perform mock surveys and assist facilities with proper survey preparation.

  • Conduct QA audits in a proactive, recurrent manner to support company infrastructure.

  • Assist and oversee proper completion and timely return of Plans of Corrections or other related documents as may be necessary to send to governmental agencies.

  • Regularly visit, make rounds, observe, audit and educate respective staff at assigned facilities.

  • Identify and work through implementation of necessary specialty programs.

  • Support and promote the philosophy, goals and objectives of the facility’s clinical programs and activities.

  • Ensure facilities are “state ready” every day.

  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the facility Administrator, regional team concerning facilities’ clinical and compliance readiness.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, RN licensure, BSN preferred.

  • Proven SNF survey track record.

  • Excellent computer skills, ability to adapt and understand new programs, Microsoft Office fluency, and PointClickcare experience preferred.

  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years LTC administrative nursing experience.

  • Systems oriented individual.  Excellent interpersonal skills required.

  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership, organizational skills and maintain a positive and professional attitude.

  • Recent long-term care experience required.

  • Detail and deadline oriented with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.

  • Demonstrate initiative in researching and resolving issues.

  • Discern areas in need of continued improvement.

  • Able to collect and process time-sensitive information from multiple sources.

  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and learn and retain new or evolving information and procedures.

Certificates and Licenses

  • Valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state where the assigned facility is located. Must have CPR certification and CPR certification must remain current during employment.

  • Valid driver’s license and insurance coverage.

  • Infection Control Preventionist Certificate- must obtain within 90 days.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel extensively with overnight stays based on facility needs.

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers and scanners.
