What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skilled Striping Laborer position at Pavement Services?

The Skilled Laborer (Striping) will be on a team of 2-4 with a Foreman to complete the designated striping project(s). The Skilled Laborer (Striper) will be responsible for laying out parking lots with blueprints. The Skilled Laborer will be responsible and will understand martials and application of materials used on the job. The skilled laborer will follow Pavement Services procedures for crack fill & pipe bollard. The skilled laborers will be responsible for power washing their equipment daily, cleaning their company vehicle, submitting work orders on equipment as needed, and doing job costing for the jobs worked that day.
Responsibilities:
- Customer service skills to communicate with the Forman, crew and administration to develop a positive working relationship.
- Accurately layout parking lots with blueprints.
- Follow proper Pavement Services procedures for crack fill & Pipe bollard.
- Knowledge of materials and application of materials used on the job.
- Understand and apply knowledge of types for seal coating and proper methods of application.
- Load and unload materials at the beginning and end of day
- Complete all preparation and clean up responsibilities before and after project completion
- Time management skills to ensure the job is completed on time so that the next phase can start.
- Maintain vehicles and equipment assigned to you, by keeping it clean, checking fluids etc.
- Create work orders for any necessary maintenance and/or repairs.
- May be required to work evenings and weekends, depending on business needs.
- May need to travel out of town on occasion for projects, depending on business needs.
- Attending monthly safety meetings.
Requirements:
- 1 – 2 years of experience as a striper – striping parking lots or related field
- Able to bend down and up for periods of time
- Reliable form of transportation
- Positive attitude and willingness to be part of a team
- Willingness to travel out of town up to 50%
- Be willing to work unpredictable weather conditions
- Willing to work evenings and weekends (on occasion)
- A plus if you can read plans, shoot grades, read elevations on survey stakes.
