What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unskilled Laborer position at Pavement Restoration Inc.?
SUMMARY
Works on construction projects and/or at the shop and plants, usually working in utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another where no experience and minimal training is required to complete tasks by performing the following duties.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes, and stretches tight line.
Bolts, nails, aligns, and blocks up under forms.
Mixes mortar mix.
Positions, joins, aligns, and seals pipe sections.
Assists in erecting scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
Mops, brushes, sweeps, picks up trash, cleans out truck, empties trash cans, etc. as needed for general housekeeping.
Applies caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices.
Shovels aggregates, asphalt, or other materials.
Assists in erecting concrete forms.
Assists in setting up traffic control, i.e., placing barrels and cones, driving traffic control pickup truck, driving posts, and attaching signs, moving portable signs, etc.
Assists in hooking up trailers, fastening attachments to equipment, loading and chaining
equipment, loading crew pickup with daily supplies, etc.
Uses hand tools, such as shovel, picks and sledgehammers to dig, drive pins, etc.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Adheres to all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc. including but not limited to the Safety Manual, the Employee Handbook, and the Fleet Safety Manual.
Answers directly to Foreman, Superintendents, Corporate Officers, or others given authority by the company.
