What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paving Screed Operator position at Pavement Preservation Group?
A Paving Screed Operator operates the screed on an asphalt paving crew to ensure a smooth, even pavement surface that meets required grade, thickness, and quality standards.
- Operate and control the screed to level and smooth asphalt
- Adjust screed height, angle, and width as needed
- Monitor asphalt flow and surface quality during paving
- Perform basic equipment checks, cleaning, and maintenance
- Work closely with the paving crew to maintain safe and efficient operations
- Follow safety rules and project specifications
- 2 Years Experience in Mainline
- Experience operating paving or heavy construction equipment preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in hot and physically demanding conditions
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
- Valid driver’s license (clean driving record)
- Able to travel and work flexible hours as required
- Must pass drug testing
- Clean CDL A
