You will be one of two Safety Specialists, one per facility, reporting directly to the EHS (environment, health, and safety) Manager, who is actively rebuilding the safety program and sees this seat as central to that rebuild. This is a direct replacement for a specialist who left, so the process moves fast: one interview, then a decision.

- Run a daily focused observation walk on a targeted risk area, plus a full facility walk every week
- Lead training on Behavior Based Safety, Confined Space entry, Incident Case Management, and Hazard Recognition for a multilingual hourly floor
- Own injury classification, safety paperwork, and recordkeeping, and support external auditors when they visit
- Conduct PPE (personal protective equipment) inspections and hazard recognition checks, and help coordinate the plant's Safety Squad team
- Respond occasionally to after hours, night, or weekend safety needs

๐ฅ๐ฒ๐พ๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ:
- Hands-on safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting; no degree required
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- OSHA 30 certification (OSHA 10 considered)
- Able to work onsite in Abilene, TX; relocation support is limited
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship, now or in the future

- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Confined Space training
- Familiarity with environmental regulations
- Comfortable in Excel and building reports from safety data

๐ฃ๐ฎ๐: $25.00 per hour, hourly and non-exempt
๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฑ๐๐น๐ฒ: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time, with an on-call component and occasional nights or weekends
๐๐ผ๐ป๐๐๐ฒ๐: Quarterly bonuses, plus a longevity bonus after one year
๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐, ๐ณ๐๐น๐น๐ ๐ณ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฑ: CPR/AED training up to CPR instructor level, plus a new audiology program that trains you to run hearing tests for the hearing conservation program. Roughly $3,000 in certifications accumulate in this role over time.
