As Facilities Engineer, you'll be the strategic architect behind facility optimization and expansion projects that directly support a $500M global operation. This brand-new role offers the unique opportunity to define your own scope while leading cellular manufacturing initiatives, facility expansions, and infrastructure improvements across a state-of-the-art 300,000 sq ft facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cellular manufacturing layout design and machine placement optimization to increase production efficiency by 20-30%
- Oversee facility expansion projects including new building construction, utility upgrades, and infrastructure modifications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on ergonomic workspace design and production flow improvements
- Develop and maintain comprehensive facility documentation using AutoCAD, transitioning from 2D to advanced 3D modeling
- Support regulatory compliance initiatives for safety, environmental, and building code requirements
- Conduct root cause analysis on facility systems and implement sustainable solutions
- Partner with manufacturing engineers on equipment installations and space planning for 2,000 production assets
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Facilities Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years of industrial facilities engineering or facilities management experience
- Strong understanding of manufacturing facility systems (HVAC, electrical, compressed air, utilities)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and facility management software
- Experience with building codes, OSHA regulations, and safety standards
- Project management experience with construction or facility modification projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Manufacturing facility design and cellular manufacturing experience
- Construction or architectural background
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles
- Knowledge of food processing or discrete manufacturing environments
