What are the responsibilities and job description for the Frontend Developer position at PavéStudios?
Thank you for taking the time to apply as a Pavé staff member.
Location: Online (volunteer based)
Company overview: Pavé is a centralized web app empowering residents, youth, and institutions to collaboratively shape their neighborhoods while preserving the cultural memory cities are losing. Pavé addresses this through three configurable modules that prioritize positive, democratized infrastructure growth, collaboration with local NGOs, and connection towards local landmarks, murals, and mom-&-pop businesses. Our aspiration is to be able to output a live demo of the platform by sometime this September. If you’d like to contribute to this project, we would love to have you onboard!
We are looking for:
Frontend Developers: help develop the main features of Pavé. You'll be tasked with implementing core modules such as the Art Wayfinder, Generosity Hub, and Admin Page and collaborating with other developers. You must partake in weekly 30-45min meetings with the CTO and other developers and send regular check-ins to keep us updated on your progress. We also highly appreciate developers who constantly give suggestions, ideas, or edits to features or elements of the project.
Time required: While we prefer developers able to contribute 10 or more hours per week, we are a volunteer based initiative and are understanding if some weeks you might not be able to provide as much work as per-usual so long that is communicated in advance.
(While not a requirement, we encourage applicants who have recently received their undergraduate degree to apply!)
Skills required:
- Hands-on experience with React.js, Tailwind CSS, and JavaScript
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage tasks independently
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an eye for design and user experience
- Interest in civic tech, social impact, or community-driven projects
