Position Overview
Pause Pain and Wellness is seeking a dependable and flexible Float Medical Assistant to support multiple clinic locations and assist with administrative operations when not in clinic.
This role is ideal for someone who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in different environments. The position requires travel between clinics and the ability to step in where needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinic Support (Float Role)
- Travel to Tupelo, Oxford, and Starkville clinics as needed
- Greet patients with professionalism, kindness, and respect
- Check-in/register patients and ensure accurate documentation
- Collect payments and provide receipts
- Prepare patients for provider visits
- Obtain and document:
- Vital signs
- Medication history
- Allergies
- Chief complaints
- Perform lab draws (phlebotomy required)
- Conduct drug screens and pregnancy tests as needed
- Assist providers by preparing charts and maintaining workflow
Administrative Support (Non-Clinic Days)
- Assist with scheduling and patient follow-ups
- Request and manage medical records
- Input labs and documentation into patient charts
- Support billing and schedule management
- Assist with inventory tracking and supply management
- Complete general administrative tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Phlebotomy experience REQUIRED (minimum 6 months)
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to different clinic environments
- Comfortable traveling between locations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time position
- Schedule varies based on clinic needs
- Travel between Tupelo, Oxford, and Starkville required
Physical Requirements
- Primarily sedentary
- Occasional lifting up to 10 lbs (files, supplies, etc.)
