Nurse JOB SUMMARY This position will provide a wide variety of Occupational Health services to the refinery employees in order to maintain a healthy workforce as well as compliance with all rules and regulations. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES Provide Occupational Health services including assessment and treatment of injuries and illnesses as well as emergency response to refinery emergencies including follow-up care. Make appropriate referrals. Responsible for handling documents and confidential records. Conduct all required medical testing for surveillance exams (respirator, benzene, DOT, ERT) including pulmonary function testing, electrocardiogram, audiograms and phlebotomy. Collect specimens for drug testing, and perform breath alcohol testing. Oversee and coordinate substance abuse program and aftercare. Develop, execute and evaluate programs to monitor health such as wellness, cholesterol screening, vaccinations and hypertension screening. Coordinate blood drives. Calibrate and maintain testing equipment as well as interface with outside vendors for maintenance of all equipment used in department. Dispense nonprescription as well as prescription medications under the direction of the facility physician. Assist physician with all medical procedures. Serve as a resource for employees regarding medical issues. Provide initial review of all associate physicians exams. Liaison with insurance carrier, third party administrator and maintain medical records for Worker’s Compensation cases. Maintain system of health and safety records/reports that conform to company and governmental requirements, while maintaining patient confidentiality. Ensure HIPPA guidelines are followed. Participate in biological survey of employee’s exposure to benzene by collecting blood specimens for testing, recording and reviewing results. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree (RN) in Nursing; BSN/COHN/AAOHN preferred Certification in audiometric testing, completion of a NIOSH approved spirometry course, breath alcohol testing (BAT) and certification in drug testing collection BLS and AED trained 5 years’ Occupational health experience (critical care or ER experience) Knowledge of: OSHA regulations, pre-placement and surveillance exams, Worker’s Compensation, insurance programs, FMLA and case management Phlebotomy experience Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel About Us Welcome to PBF Energy (NYSE: PBF), one of the largest independent petroleum refiners and suppliers of unbranded transportation fuels, heating oil, petrochemical feedstocks, lubricants and other petroleum products in the United States.
