Duties
- Transcribe detailed clinical notes during patient visits, capturing all relevant information accurately and efficiently
- Assist healthcare providers with navigating and updating Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to ensure complete documentation
- Record comprehensive medical histories, physical exam findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions
- Maintain organized and up-to-date medical records in compliance with privacy regulations and hospital policies
- Support physicians by preparing documentation for procedures, labs, imaging, and other diagnostic tests
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to accurately interpret provider dictations
- Manage multiple documentation tasks simultaneously while maintaining high accuracy standards in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Proven experience with transcription services or medical documentation preferred
- Previous medical office experience or familiarity with healthcare settings highly desirable
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for efficient data entry and retrieval
- Solid understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy to ensure precise documentation
- Excellent typing skills with high accuracy and speed to keep pace with clinical workflows
- Knowledge of medical records management and confidentiality standards (HIPAA compliance)
- Emergency room experience or exposure to acute care environments is a plus but not required
- Strong attention to detail, active listening skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a team-oriented setting
