Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their selections at the deli counter, providing excellent customer service.
- Prepare and assemble food items such as sandwiches, salads, charcuterie boards, and other deli offerings with precision and care.
- Operate POS systems like Aloha POS and Micros POS to process sales accurately while upselling products to enhance the customer experience.
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change while maintaining cash handling accuracy.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by regularly cleaning workstations, utensils, and food preparation areas in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Restock the deli counter with fresh products, monitor inventory levels, and assist in food ordering when necessary.
- Support food safety practices by following proper food handling procedures and ensuring all items are stored correctly.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, food service, or retail environments such as grocery stores or quick service restaurants is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus.
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy weekend shifts.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and ability to upsell products effectively.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, sales transactions, and inventory counting.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
