The Western Buckeye Educational Service Center is seeking qualified applicants for the position of
Opportunity School Principal. The Opportunity School Principal provides leadership, oversight, and daily
management of the Western Buckeye Educational Service Center’s alternative education program serving
students in behavioral, credit recovery, and nontraditional learning pathways.
This role requires a hands-on, student-centered leader who actively supports staff and students by being
present in classrooms, assisting with instruction, and helping maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging
learning environment.
The Principal oversees curriculum implementation, behavioral supports, safety procedures, and individualized
student programming while ensuring students receive opportunities for academic recovery, personal growth,
and career exploration. The position also coordinates unique learning experiences, community partnerships,
and guest speakers to enhance student engagement and success.
Qualifications include:
● Valid Ohio Principal or Administrative License or ability to obtain alternative licensure.
● Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Special Education, or related field.
● Experience working with at-risk, alternative education, or behavioral support programs.
● Knowledge of PBIS, behavior management strategies, and student intervention supports.
● Understanding of special education law, IEP development, and student services.
● Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
