Millwright Director

Summary

Oversee all millwright operations, including service, installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. Providing deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with clients, PM’s, and internal departments to ensure successful jobs (on-time / at quote).
• Manage budgets, material requirements, resource allocation, and scheduling for millwright operations.
• Collaborate with sales in prospecting, estimating, quoting, planning, scheduling and invoicing of jobs.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, safety, and service quality.
• Oversee the planning and execution of machinery installation, alignment, and maintenance projects.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all millwright activities.
• Lead and manage millwright teams, supervisors, and support staff.
• Train and mentor millwright personnel to build high-performing teams.
• Evaluate equipment and tooling needs and recommend upgrades or replacements.

Qualifications

• Illinois Class D License
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in millwright work, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Journeyman Millwright certification or equivalent technical training preferred
• Expert knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial machinery.
• Proven ability to manage teams and complex projects in a fast-paced competing deadline environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with OSHA and other relevant safety standards.
