Duties involve:
- Removing trees by climbing them or dropping them from ground (when appropriate).
- Various pruning and trimming of trees, including dead-wooding, thinning of trees, end weight reduction pruning, crown raising, pruning for clearance, etc., in accordance with proper pruning standards.
- Removing and planting grass, sod, etc.
- Loading wheelbarrows and spreading mulch, topsoil, and stone.
- Weeding and edging landscape beds.
- Pruning or trimming trees from ground level, trim shrubs and hedges, using hedge clippers, and cleaning up debris/shrub clippings.
- Hauling branches and loading a trailer.
- Operating machinery including chainsaws, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, loader, etc.
- Assist with rigging/lowering of branches from ground level for tree removal.
- Raking, blowing, and hauling tarps with leaves.
- Various other landscaping tasks as needed.
Experience Required
- Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license with your own reliable transportation--this job involves working at different customer's locations around the Webster, Penfield, Irondequoit and surrounding areas, and you must be able to drive yourself there.
- Must be able to speak English and be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in a professional setting doing tree work.
- Must have no significant fear of heights and be comfortable spending hours working at height.
- Must be experienced with various climbing techniques (climbing with spikes and flip-line for removals, climbing with SRT/SRS, and MRS/DRT), and familiar with setting a throwline/climbing rope by hand or using air cannon, etc.
- Must be proficient at limb-walking, have knowledge of correct pruning techniques, and know how and when to utilize various rigging techniques.
- Must be able to work at an efficient pace while not compromising safety for yourself, the crew, or customer property.
Hours
Hours do vary depending on weather. Usual hours are 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 p.m. with a lunch break around noon. Unless there is a week with bad weather, causing scheduling delays, we generally don't work on Saturdays. You will get all Sundays off.

Pay: $20.00 - $33.00 per hour
