Duties
- Conduct thorough diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues across vehicle systems, including electrical, powertrain, transmission, suspension, and ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems).
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle components such as engines (including diesel engines), transmissions, suspensions, alignments, and electrical systems by interpreting automotive wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive repair tools efficiently to complete repairs accurately and safely.
- Repair or replace vehicle parts including powertrain components, vehicle transmission systems, suspension systems, and electrical wiring to restore optimal vehicle performance.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake services, wheel alignments, and system inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
- Document all work performed accurately for auto estimating purposes and maintain detailed service records in compliance with dealership standards.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair procedures.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including powertrain, electrical systems, transmissions, and suspension components.
- Proficiency in interpreting automotive wiring diagrams, schematics, and diagnosing complex electrical issues such as ADAS or automotive electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostic tools and advanced diagnostic techniques for efficient problem-solving.
- Skilled in vehicle maintenance tasks like wheel alignment, vehicle transmission system repair, diesel engine repair, and general automotive service.
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus; welding skills are also advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills paired with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Ability to work effectively with hand tools, power tools, power equipment, and welding apparatus while maintaining safety standards.
- Demonstrated service technician experience with a focus on quality workmanship and attention to detail.
