Career Services Advisor Role
A Career Services Advisor supports students and graduates in their job placement efforts by providing career coaching, organizing recruiting events, and coordinating career fairs. They build relationships with employers to create hiring opportunities and assist students with resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies. In addition to career services, the advisor also performs administrative duties such as recording grades, tracking attendance, and offering academic coaching to help students stay on track toward graduation.
What We Are Looking For
Provides career planning and marketing strategies to assist students with the career development process, including obtaining information on companies, opportunities for employment and hiring practices, and making the transition from school to career. Initiates contact with potential employers to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with students and alumni through counseling, online assistance, and workshops. Plans and hosts career fairs and on-campus recruitment/hiring events to support Future Professionals.
Skills/Competencies Required:
- Experience in a cosmetology school is preferred
- Excellent organization, coaching, and communication skills
- Skills in supervision, teamwork, and documentation
- Solid work history with verifiable references
- Passion for the beauty industry
- Honesty and professionalism
