Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Secretary to support our attorneys and legal staff. The ideal candidate will manage administrative tasks, maintain case files, assist with legal filings, and ensure that daily operations within the office run smoothly.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Court Filings: Execute e-filing in state and federal courts.
- Document Management: Draft, format, and proofread complex legal documents, including petitions, motions, discovery requests (RFPs, Interrogatories), and appellate briefs.
- Client Communication: Serve as a professional point of contact for clients, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel.
- Database Management: Transcribe information from various sources into our database accurately and efficiently.
- Office Support: Review supply levels and place office supply and kitchen orders when needed, staying within budgeted amounts.
- Administrative Support: Provide support in administrative tasks as required, ensuring smooth office operations.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, legal studies, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a legal secretary or administrative assistant in the legal field.
- Experience with e-filing systems and familiarity with court filing procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; comfortable learning new software quickly.
