QUICK OVERVIEW – TL;DR

This role can be based out of either New York or New Jersey, with occasional job-site inspections as needed to improve scoping accuracy.
We are hiring an Estimator who can create accurate, compliant scopes and estimates for both mitigation and reconstruction work. This role partners closely with Project Managers to support fast approvals, strong margins, and clean billing.

In restoration, estimating is the bridge between field reality and claim outcomes. Great estimators write scopes that win approvals, protect profitability, and reduce supplements and rework.
THE WHERE
Opportunities in both New York and New Jersey (Metro NY/NJ). Field-based roles require travel across NYC and Northeast NJ as needed.
THE ROLE – WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
· Work directly with Project Managers to take field scope and documented conditions (including DocuSketch scans, photos, and measurements) and translate them into accurate estimates for mitigation and reconstruction (residential and commercial).
· Use Xactimate (required) and Symbility (preferred) to write clear, defensible estimates and supplements based on documented scope and real job conditions.
· Refine scope clarity with PMs and Crew Chiefs to ensure documentation supports claim compliance, billing accuracy, and margin protection.
· Prepare supplements and revisions as job conditions evolve, responding professionally to carrier/TPA feedback and protecting appropriate scope capture.
· Maintain pricing discipline and margin awareness; identify scope gaps early and escalate issues before they impact production or collections.
· Communicate with adjusters and stakeholders as needed to support approvals, resolve scope questions, and move files toward faster closeout.
REQUIRED / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
· Required: Strong written communication; attention to detail; comfort with technology and estimating tools.
· Preferred: Xactimate and/or Symbility proficiency; restoration/reconstruction estimating experience; knowledge of TPA/carrier standards; ability to estimate in NYC/Metro environments.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
· Competitive base salary ($65-85K) plus commissions/incentives tied to profit, production and overall performance. Total Compensation potential is $150K .
· Benefits package, including PTO, 401(k) with match, medical reimbursement, and training/development support.
