Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage financial records and ensure accurate accounting practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency with various accounting software, and experience working with both corporate and non-profit organizations. This role involves maintaining general ledger accuracy, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports to support organizational decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records using accounting software QuickBooks.
- Perform general ledger accounting and ensure compliance with GAAP standards
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounts
- Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage payroll processing and tax-related accounting tasks
- Assist with budgeting, financial report writing, and account reconciliation processes
- Ensure accuracy in debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account classifications
- Support governmental accounting requirements and ensure adherence to relevant regulations
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors in financial data
Skills
- Proficiency with accounting software platform QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, and governmental accounting standards
- Experience with bank reconciliation, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis
- Knowledge of payroll processing and tax experience is preferred
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and financial report writing accurately
- Familiarity with accounts payable & receivable processes and technical accounting concepts
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills including 10 key typing proficiency
- Ability to interpret financial concepts clearly and communicate findings effectively
