Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures
- Provide patients with post-treatment care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Follow all infection control and safety protocols
- Coordinate and track outgoing and incoming lab cases
- Ensure accuracy of impressions, scans, prescriptions, and lab slips
- Communicate with dental laboratories regarding case details and timelines
- Inspect incoming lab work for quality and accuracy prior to patient delivery
- Maintain organized logs of lab cases, due dates, and follow-ups
Additional Responsibilities:
- Help coordinate daily clinical flow and support schedule efficiency
- Serve as a resource for team members on clinical protocols and procedures
- Assist with onboarding and training of new dental assistants
- Monitor and maintain inventory of clinical supplies and equipment
- Support implementation of office systems and best practices
- Communicate effectively with front office and providers to ensure seamless patient care
- Help uphold a positive, team-oriented work environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Dental Assistant
- Certification in Dental Assisting (CDA or equivalent preferred)
- Radiology certification
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and terminology
- Experience with lab case coordination or management preferred
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to multitask and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Dentrix Ascend is a plus
