Patuxent Football Athletics is seeking motivated, creative, and passionate individuals to join our team for the 2026 inaugural season in Southern Maryland as a Digital Media & Gameday Operations Intern.
This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sports media, content creation, and live event operations while working with a growing soccer club competing in USL League Two, USL W League, and USL Youth (USL Y).
About the Role:
As a Digital Media & Gameday Operations Intern, you will play a key role in shaping the club’s digital presence and enhancing the gameday experience. This position is designed for students of all experience levels, from beginners looking to break into the industry to those with advanced media skills.
Interns will work directly with media professionals and team leadership to help bring the Patuxent FA brand to life both online and in-stadium.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing and growing team social media accounts (Instagram, X, Facebook, etc.)
- Create and publish engaging content including graphics, captions, and short-form video
- Write articles for the website news section
- Capture photos and videos during games and team events
- Provide live gameday coverage (updates, stories, highlights)
- Support gameday operations at St. Mary’s Ryken High School (Leonardtown, MD)
- Help execute fan engagement elements and stadium atmosphere
- Collaborate with the media team on content planning and storytelling
- Assist with postgame content and recap coverage

Schedule & Commitment:
- Season runs mid-May through mid-July 2026
- Hybrid role: Remote work for content creation and planning, In-person attendance required for select home matches and events

Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Currently enrolled in a college/university program (or recent graduate seeking credit-based experience)
- Interest in sports, media, marketing, or communications
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms
- Basic photography/video skills are a plus (but not required)
Compensation:
- Unpaid internship for college credit.
- Interns may complete as many hours as needed to fulfill academic credit requirements
