Responsibilities
- Hardware Design and Development:
- Prepare detailed electronics hardware and system specifications to guide development activities.
- Utilize a complex EDA tool chain for schematic entry, ensuring precision and efficiency.
- Design a wide variety of digital and mixed-signal circuits for LAN and WAN networking applications, incorporating microprocessors and communication-specific integrated circuits.
- Microprocessor-Based Electronics:
- Design and bring-up microprocessor-based electronics, including DDR4 memory, with a focus on performance and reliability.
- Develop and debug communication-specific circuits, encompassing Ethernet, USB, and DSL Wireless technologies.
- Power Supply Design:
- Design and debug point-of-load buck and boost power supply circuits to meet the power requirements of our products.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Design for regulatory compliance, ensuring safety, emissions, and immunity standards are met (UL and CE).
- Contribute to the preparation of documentation for regulatory approval processes.
- PCB Layout and Testing:
- Participate in PCB layout, making informed decisions on stack-up, characteristic impedance, and copper weight for optimal performance.
- Conduct thorough design verification testing and document results to validate the functionality and reliability of hardware designs.
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in system- and board-level hardware design and development.
- Proficiency in using complex EDA tool chains for schematic entry, preferably Altium and/or Mentor Graphics.
- Experience in timing and signal integrity analysis.
- Strong expertise in designing microprocessor-based electronics, DDR memory, and communication-specific circuits.
- Familiarity with power supply design, including point-of-load buck and boost circuits.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (UL and CE).
- Hands-on experience with PCB layout and design verification testing.
