Requirements:
- A genuine passion for animals
- At least 1 year of retail experience
- At least 1 year of management experience
- A willingness to learn a LOT about animal nutrition, behavior and other topics.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, including weekends
- A positive, cheerful, solutions-oriented attitude
- Strong work ethic and common sense
- Ability to lift and move 40 lbs. or more
- Ability to work outside in all weather and seasons
- Reliable transportation
Pay & Training:
We are committed to paying a Living Wage through Just Economics. Starting pay is $21/hour during the training/probationary period, increasing to $22/hour once fully trained as a Sales Associate (generally within 90 days), depending on performance.
Managers-in-training will initially perform the duties of a Sales Associate while learning our systems, processes, products and culture. Once they are fully trained in the Sales Associate role, they will begin taking on additional managerial responsibilities and will have opportunities for additional pay increases. Store Managers start at $24/hour, with opportunities for further increases based on performance and experience during biannual performance reviews.
