Role Description This part-time, on-site Pharmacy Technician role is based at Patterson's Drug Store in Martinsburg, WV. The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists with processing and filling prescriptions, including data entry, labeling, and preparing medications according to established procedures and regulations. Daily responsibilities include supporting inventory control by stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and maintaining accurate records of medications and supplies. The role also involves providing responsive customer service, such as answering questions within scope, handling phone calls, processing payments, and communicating wait times. The Pharmacy Technician will help maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety, privacy, and confidentiality guidelines.
Qualifications
- Experience working with prescriptions, including reading, processing, and preparing medications accurately.
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations and procedures; prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Skills in inventory control, including tracking stock levels, rotating stock, and identifying discrepancies.
- Strong customer service abilities with clear, respectful communication and a patient-focused approach.
- High attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and adherence to safety and confidentiality standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move pharmacy supplies as needed, and work in a fast-paced environment.
