Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the automobile dealership’s outgoing payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely processing of invoices related to vehicle inventory, parts, services, and operational expenses. This role plays a key part in maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting overall financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and verify invoices for vehicle purchases, parts, service expenses, and dealership operations
- Match purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents (3-way match)
- Ensure proper coding of expenses to general ledger accounts
- Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records and files
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, billing issues, and account inquiries
- Assist with month-end closing, including accruals and account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with company policies, manufacturer requirements, and accounting standards
- Monitor aging reports and ensure timely payments to avoid penalties or disruptions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
- 2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in an automotive dealership or similar environment
- Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) is a plus
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- Experience with high-volume invoice processing

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
