TASTING ROOM MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY

Patterson Cellars, celebrating their 25th anniversary as a leader in the Washington State wine industry is now accepting applicants for a Tasting Room Manager position overseeing our two beautiful tasting rooms in Hollywood Hill and the Woodinville Warehouse District located in the heart of Woodinville Wine Country. Patterson Cellars is known for consistent and approachable wines produced by winemaker, John Patterson, who has been a leader in the Washington State wine industry for over 38 years. Under the direction of the Vice President, the Tasting Room Manager is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Hollywood Hill and Warehouse District tasting rooms which includes facilitating the sales programs, opening and closing of the tasting room, supervising and mentoring the tasting room staff, and promoting the sale of wine and non-wine products. Also responsible for demonstrating, promoting and ensuring exceptional customer service to guests through training and development of tasting room staff.

• Oversees tasting room staff to ensure they are properly trained on all procedures, including operating POS and credit card machine, maintaining proper inventory control, signing up wine club members and collecting customer contact information at the point of sale.

• Develops monthly staffing schedule to ensure the tasting room and tours are properly staffed at all times.

• Works closely with the Vice President and Wine Club Manager to ensure the tasting room meets sales and wine club enrollment initiatives.

• Carries out duties associated with opening and closing of the tasting room and makes sure full-time and part-time staff are properly trained on opening and closing procedures.

• Accounts for daily sales and properly trains all full and part-time staff.

• Assists in the coordination, staffing and scheduling of onsite and offsite tasting room events. May be requested to attend special events and tastings outside the winery.

• Works closely with TR staff up to date on procedures, sales tips, event updates and other pertinent information to aid sales and improve efficiency.

• Works with the Vice President and Marketing team to make sure pricing, tasting sheets and all other channels for sales are updated and accurate.

• Communicates tasting room issues and status to the Vice President at weekly management meetings.

• Maintains the cleanliness of the tasting room.

• Fully supports the policies, procedures and Patterson Cellars' commitment to the established safety practices and policies.

• Special projects and other responsibilities as required. Willing to change priorities on a day to day basis as business needs dictate.

• Works to keep staff up to date including, but not limited to, opening and closing of the tasting room and assuring that all standards of professionalism and customer service are upheld by all staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings required.

• Minimum 2 yrs. customer service and/or hospitality experience required.

• Minimum 1 yr. team management experience required.

• Minimum 1 yr. experience working in a retail environment required.

• Minimum 1 yrs. experience working in a tasting room preferred.

• Minimum 1 yr. experience in wine industry preferred.

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage constantly changing priorities

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and experience with POS systems.

• Responsibilities may change based on business need.

• Must be at least 21 years of age and obtain or have a valid MAST 12 pouring and Food Handler's permit upon hire.

• Physically lift up to 40 lbs.
