Sr. Environmental Specialist

Role Summary

Responsible for ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability across manufacturing operations. Develops and manages environmental programs, monitors emissions and waste, oversees chemical management, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives pollution prevention and waste reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations for air, water, waste, emissions, and hazardous materials.
• Develop and implement environmental policies, procedures, and sustainability programs.
• Monitor pollution control systems, emissions, and environmental performance.
• Manage waste reduction, recycling, storage, transportation, and disposal programs.
• Oversee chemical management, including SDS compliance and regulatory approvals.
• Coordinate environmental monitoring vendors and regulatory reporting.
• Train employees on environmental procedures, including cell discharge room operations.
• Liaise with government agencies, vendors, and local communities on environmental matters.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 years of environmental compliance experience in manufacturing (EV battery, automotive, auto parts, or similar high-volume production).
• Battery manufacturing experience preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification and AutoCAD knowledge preferred.
  
  

Work Environment

• Combination of office, manufacturing, and construction site work.
• PPE required in production areas.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in environments with noise, heat, and hazardous materials exposure.
