Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mastercam Programmer / Tool Maker. The ideal candidate will have a background in mold making or precision tool making, and the ability to program, set up, and machine custom components. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently on one-of-a-kind projects.
Job Description
- Program CNC machines using Mastercam.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Haas CNCs.
- Design tools based on CAD models, and engineering drawings to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop manufacturing strategies for unique tools.
- Conduct quality inspections and dimensional checks using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Maintain equipment, tooling, and work area to ensure a safe and efficient shop environment.
- Provide input on process improvements, tooling strategies, and creative solutions for complex parts.
- Troubleshoot issues that may occur in the manufacturing process.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machines.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in CNC technology and industry best practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow safety protocols and company policies at all times.
Qualifications
- 2 years of CNC programming and machining experience, preferably in tool making or mold making.
- Proficiency in Mastercam.
- Strong knowledge of precision machining, cutting tools, and setup procedures.
- Ability to work from blueprints, CAD/CAM data, and engineering specifications.
- Experience working to aerospace and/or medical industry standards is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Physical ability to perform the essentials of job functions.
