Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of service
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend popular items, and upsell to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Monitor guest needs throughout their dining experience, responding quickly to requests or concerns to ensure complete satisfaction
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while adhering to sanitation and food safety standards
- Bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas as needed
Skills
- Proven experience with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Strong knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and food safety protocols in the food industry
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build guest relations in fast-paced environments like fine dining or nightclubs
- Culinary experience or familiarity with food preparation enhances service quality
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently using sales techniques like OpenTable reservations or suggestive selling strategies
- Previous experience in hospitality roles such as host/hostess or server is highly desirable
