Duties
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product inquiries or demos
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and perform cash handling with precision
- Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, including merchandising and stocking shelves as needed
- Upsell products by highlighting features and benefits to enhance customer satisfaction and sales
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
- Support inventory management through stock checks and product replenishment to ensure shelves are well-stocked
- Assist in training new team members or supervising junior staff to uphold service standards
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery store environments or similar settings
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is highly desirable
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills in a retail context is a plus
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases effectively
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage confidently with customers and team members
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Experience conducting product demos or upselling techniques to increase sales volume
