SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of assigned manufacturing, repair, or support areas. This is a working supervisor position that remains hands-on in production, with the expectation to clock time to routers and ADP while leading daily operations. This role includes planning, coordinating, and directing production activities to ensure high-quality workmanship, compliance with safety standards, adherence to schedules and budgets, and achievement of customer satisfaction goals. The supervisor plays a key role in workforce leadership, cross-department coordination, and continuous process improvement across areas including Electric Shop, Machine Shop, Sheet Metal Assembly, HI Assembly, and Coatings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and supervise manufacturing personnel, including leads, technicians, and operators, to meet production, cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Plan, schedule, and direct daily production activities to support operational goals and customer requirements.
- Manage and control labor resources to support required production levels while operating within approved budgets.
- Ensure employees have clear work instructions, defined processes, proper tooling, equipment, and materials to perform their work effectively.
- Assign work and hold individuals accountable for performance, quality, safety, and productivity expectations.
- Coach and develop leads to effectively train, support, and manage their teams.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Facilities, Supply Chain, Sales, and other support functions to ensure coordinated and timely production efforts.
- Monitor and maintain machinery, tools, equipment, and facilities to support safe and efficient operations.
- Review work instructions, drawings, routers, and schedules to determine material, labor, and resource requirements.
- identify production issues, capacity constraints, and process gaps; escalate and drive timely resolution.
- Recommend and implement cost reduction, process improvement, and efficiency initiatives.
- Participate in quality systems and ensure compliance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, OSHA, and safety standards.
- Ensure required paperwork, documentation, and production records are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Support and manage initial and recurrent training requirements for assigned personnel.
- Serve as a technical and operational resource during stand-up meetings and provide regular status updates.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company standards.
- Follow written and verbal instructions and perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, mentor, hire, train, communicate, set goals, and reinforce through recognition and discipline.
- Assign duties and examine work for exactness, completeness, and conformance.
- Establish work procedures, coordinate schedules, and ensure efficient workflow execution.
- Analyze and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Maintain harmony among workers and resolve any grievances at the lowest possible level.
- Provide training and guidance for subordinates.
- Perform personnel interviews and evaluations.
- Prepare weekly time sheets; approve or disapprove time charged.
- Attend meetings and keep subordinates informed of key issues and topics.
- General supervision of technical advisors leads and direct labor personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High School education or equivalent reading, writing, and math abilities.
- 5 years manufacturing experience.
- Previous supervisory experience a plus.
- Effective organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and plan work.
- Success in leading a team through disciplined, process-driven manufacturing and ramp-up of products while exceeding on-time delivery, product cost, cycle time, and quality metrics.
- Ability to manage and motivate a multidiscipline team to meet program commitments.
- Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
- Ability to build positive relationships and maintain cross-functional partnerships.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed.
