SUMMARY

The Academy Chair is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of ALOFT Academy and curricula. This role includes developing and managing funding resources to ensure sustainable delivery of high-quality learning experiences and evolve into a self-funded enterprise that reliably delivers talent necessary for ALOFT to sustain and grow the business base at Delaware Coastal Airport . The Academy Chair will work closely with the Training department, and stakeholders to align educational and talent development strategies with organizational goals. The Academy chair carries core charter in curricula development, faculty oversight, talent development and independent funding through local, state and federal resources and partners. The Academy Chair reports to the Vice President of Quality. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design, development, and evaluation of curricula to ensure alignment with educational standards and organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with the training department and subject matter experts to integrate innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of instructional programs and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Work closely with various departments to identify the organization's evolving needs and tailor the curriculum to ensure alignment with business goals, industry trends, and skill requirements.
  • Develop and manage the budget for the ALOFT Academy, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants, partnerships, and sponsorships.
  • Oversee the financial planning and reporting processes related to the ALOFT Academy.
  • Provide leadership and support to the training department, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including educational institutions, community organizations, and funding bodies.
  • Represent ALOFT at conferences, workshops, and other professional events.
  • Prepare and present reports on program performance, funding utilization, and strategic initiatives to senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in STEM educational administration, curriculum development, and funding management.
  • Strong knowledge of STEM educational standards, instructional design, and assessment practices including curricula development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and secure funding for educational programs.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting.
  • Strategic planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in educational technologies and software.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a multidiscipline team to meet program commitments.
  • Accomplish planned work in compliance with company procedures.
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

  • Read, write, and understand the English language. 
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret complex documents.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

  • Master’s degree in education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
